ABOUT US

The Stony Point Ambulance Corps, located in Stony Point, New York, has a rich history dating back to 1946 when it was founded. It is a volunteer-based ambulance service that provides emergency medical care and transportation to the residents of Stony Point and surrounding areas. Over the years, it has played a crucial role in responding to medical emergencies, accidents, and other critical situations, serving as a lifeline for the local community. As the needs of the community evolved, the Stony Point Ambulance Corps expanded its services and capabilities, ensuring that residents receive the best possible care during emergencies.

ASSOCIATIONOur Corps is fortunate to have a growing team of over 40 dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to provide emergency medical services to the Town of Stony Point and its surroundings. These volunteers are the backbone of our organization, and their commitment ensures that residents receive timely and professional medical assistance. The volunteers come from diverse backgrounds and bring their unique expertise, which has been instrumental in building the Corps into a trusted and indispensable institution in the community.

AUXILIARYIn addition to the Association, Stony Point Ambulance Corps proudly maintains the only EMS Auxiliary program in the county, which comprises over 20 dedicated members. This Auxiliary program is vital in supporting the Corps in various non-medical aspects, including fundraising, administrative work, and community outreach, further enhancing the organization's ability to serve the community effectively.

YOUTH CORPSMoreover, the Stony Point Ambulance Corps has recognized the importance of engaging and educating the youth of its community. To this end, it has established a Youth Corps program, which is open to young individuals between the ages of 15 and 17 who are interested in exploring a future in healthcare. This initiative not only provides valuable education and training for aspiring young EMTs but also instills a sense of responsibility and community service in the next generation.

EMPLOYEE PROGRAMIn 2022, the Corps recognized the growing need for additional resources to meet the increasing demand for emergency medical care. To address this, SPAC implemented its own employee program, which introduced 15 per-diem EMTs to supplement the volunteer base. This strategic move allowed the Corps to continue serving the community while adapting to the changing healthcare landscape.
