ABOUT US

The Stony Point Ambulance Corps was founded in 1946 as a volunteer-based emergency medical service for the residents of Stony Point, New York. For nearly 80 years, our community has relied on dedicated volunteers to deliver life-saving care when it matters most.Today, SPAC operates three ambulances from a single station, staffed across three shifts to provide continuous 24/7 coverage. At a minimum, one ambulance is always staffed and ready. When needed, additional crews are called in to place more units in service and respond to multiple calls or larger incidents. Our team includes over 55 active volunteer EMTs and responders, alongside 15 per-diem EMTs who work together to ensure timely, professional care throughout Stony Point and the surrounding areas. Each year, SPAC responds to approximately 1,700 calls, ranging from medical emergencies to motor vehicle accidents and mutual aid requests. Our crews collaborate closely with local and regional partners to provide seamless prehospital care and safe patient transport.Supporting our operations is the only EMS Auxiliary program in Rockland County, with more than 15 members providing essential non-medical support such as fundraising, outreach, and administrative assistance. We also invest in the future of emergency services through our Youth Corps program, which offers local teens aged 15 to 17 foundational training, mentorship, and hands-on experience in EMS.
